Installing standalone SUM on Windows

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have met the OS, network port, and system requirements described in Prerequisites for deploying and using SUM.

About this task

Follow this procedure to install Smart Update Manager (SUM) on a Windows system using the MSI installer. The installation configures the solution as a managed service and allows access through a web browser.

Procedure

Download the SUM MSI installer.
Double-click the .msi file to start the installation wizard.
Review and accept the EULA.
Specify the installation path or accept the default location.
Click Install.
Complete the installation and optionally enable auto-launch.
Access the SUM UI using https://localhost:63002.

Results

The application is installed and runs as a background service.
