ZIP firmware baseline upload is rejected

Symptom

A ZIP firmware baseline upload does not complete successfully. Smart Update Manager (SUM) rejects the uploaded archive during validation before processing begins.

Cause

SUM validates uploaded ZIP firmware baselines before extraction. The archive might contain an invalid internal directory structure, unsafe paths, path traversal entries such as ../, absolute paths, symbolic links, or other unsupported content.

Action

Verify that the ZIP file is a valid firmware baseline package obtained from a trusted source.
Do not manually modify the internal structure of the ZIP archive.
If the archive is damaged or contains unsupported entries, recreate or download an new copy of the ZIP file.
Retry the upload using a valid ZIP firmware baseline package.
Alternatively, use a supported SPP ISO.
