Adding component packages

Prerequisites

  • You have component package in your system.

About this task

Use this procedure to add one or more component packages to the firmware repository. When a component package is selected, its associated metadata and signature files are automatically mapped based on the file name. These component packages can then be included in SUM and later used to generate a custom baseline from an existing SUM firmware baseline.

Procedure

  1. Access the UI using a web browser.
  2. In the left navigation pane, select Firmware.
  3. Select Actions > Add component package.
  4. In the Add component package window, do one of the following:

    • Select the directory from the local system that has the component package files.

    • Drag and drop the directory into the window that has the component package files.

  5. Click Continue.

    The uploaded files are validated. If validation fails for one or more component packages, an error message is displayed and the affected file names are highlighted.

  6. Select one or more component packages.
    The corresponding metadata and signature files are automatically mapped based on the file name.
  7. In the confirmation window, verify that the component packages are added successfully and click Close.

Results

The component packages are added to the repository, and the Component Packages tab is displayed with the newly added components.
