Managing custom baselines

Smart Update Manager (SUM) supports creation of custom baselines. Creating a custom baseline enables you to:
  • Deploy specific updates from Service pack for HPE ProLiant (SPP) releases.
  • Minimize the size of baselines or ISO images or ZIP files.
  • Standardize the updates that you deploy in your environment.
A custom baseline is created from an HPE-provided firmware baseline that has already been added to the SUM appliance. Custom baselines cannot be created from an existing custom baseline. Before creating a custom baseline, ensure that a valid HPE-provided baseline is available in the SUM appliance. For information about adding a firmware baseline, see Adding firmware baselines.
NOTE

  • SUM creates custom baselines in ISO and ZIP formats that are available for download.

  • SUM supports replacing HPE baseline components in a custom baseline. Before creating the custom baseline, add the required components. For information about adding components, see Adding component packages. You can then select those components during the custom baseline creation workflow.
