Adding localhost server by providing iLO credentials

About this task

If the local iLO operates in High Security, FIPS, or CNSA mode, Smart Update Manager (SUM) cannot automatically complete localhost server onboarding. You must provide valid iLO administrator credentials to complete the onboarding process.

Procedure

Start the SUM service.
Verify that the localhost server appears on the Servers page with onboarding pending.
If the server is an HPE ProLiant Gen12 and later servers, verify that CNSA mode is not enabled.

NOTE
Firmware updates are not supported on HPE ProLiant Gen12 and later servers when CNSA mode is enabled. Change the security mode to FIPS or Production (Standard) before onboarding the server.
From the main menu, select Servers.
Select the localhost server.
Select the Summary tab, and then click Enter iLO Credentials
Enter the iLO credentials.
Click Save and connect to iLO.
Verify that the onboarding process completes successfully and that the server status is updated on the Servers page.

Results

The localhost server is onboarded successfully and is available for firmware update operations.
