Last update operation status
Remote server with automatic reboot
-
When a firmware update requires a reboot, the Last update operation report remains in the PENDING_REBOOT state until the updated firmware becomes active.
-
After the server restarts, Smart Update Manager (SUM) verifies the installed firmware against the selected baseline and updates the report status accordingly:
-
The status changes to OK when the installed component version matches the selected baseline.
-
The status changes to FAILED when the component version does not match the selected baseline or when post-reboot verification fails.
-
Localhost server with automatic reboot
When a localhost firmware update requires a reboot, the Last Update Operation report remains in the PENDING_REBOOT state even after the server restarts. Unlike remote servers update that uses automatic reboot, the localhost post-reboot workflow does not automatically change the status to OK or FAILED.
Manual reboot
For both remote and localhost servers configured for manual reboot, the report remains in PENDING_REBOOT.
